This mural was one of my big Covid projects. I spent months working on this mural of the Oakland—San Fransisco skyline. The mural is located at my cousins’ house in Walnut Creek. Early on in the pandemic, my cousin asked me about painting some form of Bay Area skyline on their bedroom wall, and I was very enthusiastic about the project. What began as an idea of an all black silhouette quickly evolved into an in depth mural of several landmarks in Oakland and SF.
Included in the mural is, the Oakland Cranes, one of the most fascinating to look at aspects of Oakland. From there the mural turns into the Bay Bridge, stretching from Oakland into San Fransisco. In SF I have the Ferry Building, Sutro Tower, the Salesforce Tower, the TransAmerica Building, then Koit Tower, along with many other buildings representing SF architecture. The mural then branches into the Golden Gate Bridge reaching from San Fransisco into… the wall, haha.
