This piece was inspired by photos of thick heavy clouds in an afternoon light. I did this painting at a time when clouds were a theme for me and it was sort of a new experience in painting clouds that had little to no white in them.

For me this painting was a full experiment in color for me. I was fascinated by how I could see turquoise and and purples in nature and wanted to replicate that in my art. I tried to use as many shades of murky colors like blues, greens and purples as I could to develop the color scheme of this painting.
